When the Muslim religion was the official religion of the ruling class in Spain, a policy of freedom was implanted in Spain which allowed, among other things, followers of the Jewish religion to flourish Spain. Muslims populated Spain for nearly 700 years. Jews and Muslims were exiled in 1492.
